Study Physics Formulas started from a simple observation: students rarely forget a formula, they forget what the letters stand for and which unit goes where. Each page here deals with one formula, from the acceleration formula to the dimensional formula of Planck’s constant, and keeps the same order every time. You get the formula first, then each symbol with its SI unit, then the dimensions, then worked examples and the mistakes that cost marks.
We write for high school and college students in the United States working through algebra based and AP Physics courses, and for students in India preparing for Class 9 to 12 board exams, JEE and NEET. Where the two systems name things differently (u and v₀ for initial velocity, for example) the page says so once and sticks to one.
The formula finder on the home page searches every formula on the site. Most formula pages also carry a solve-for calculator, so you can check your own working one step at a time.
